Privacy policy
Effective date: 30 October 2026
Summary
- Muspace is free and has no ads.
- There are no accounts in this version. Your likes, saves and settings stay on your phone.
- The app sends nothing about you to us or to anyone else. Its Quran text, translations and Insight are inside the app, so reading needs no connection.
- The app has no analytics, no crash-reporting service and no advertising ID. It does not ask for your camera, photos, microphone, contacts or location.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not sell your information.
Who can use Muspace
Anyone can use Muspace with no account. Muspace is not directed at children. The App Store rating of 4+ is about content, not audience.
What stays on your phone
These stay in the app's private storage and we never receive them:
- your likes, saves and collections, with their names
- your settings
- your search terms, because search runs on your phone
- the cards you saw recently, so For you does not repeat them straight away
Deleting the app removes them. Your phone's own backup (iCloud or Google backup) includes your saves, so a reinstall or new phone can bring them back.
How content reaches your phone
The Quran text, the translation and Insight come inside the app. Reading sends no request to Muspace or anyone else. New surahs and corrections arrive with app updates from the App Store or Google Play.
Our website
The public pages of muspace.org have no ads and need no account. Our host and delivery network keep your IP address and browser details in security logs for at most 14 days. A staff-only area uses a session cookie.
Visit counts. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts every visit. It sets no cookies, collects no personal data and does not follow you across websites. We see only totals, such as page views and referring sites. The app does not use it.
Google Analytics, only if you allow it. The website, not the app, can use Google Analytics. It is off until you choose.
- A card asks whether we may use it. "Allow" and "No thanks" are equal choices. Closing the card counts as "No thanks". Nothing loads from Google and no analytics cookie is set until you choose "Allow". We remember your choice for 12 months.
- If you allow it, it collects the pages you visit, how you arrived, time on the page, taps and scrolls, your general location (worked out by Google), and your device, browser, screen size and language. Google says it does not store IP addresses.
- Its cookies,
_gaand_ga_followed by our property number, expire after 13 months. Google keeps the data for 2 months. We see totals and trends, not named people. - Advertising features and Google signals are off. Google acts as our service provider under its data processing terms, and may process data in the United States.
- To change your mind, choose "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page and pick "No thanks". It stops, and we delete its
_gacookies.
Sharing an ayah
Share opens your phone's share sheet with the plain reference, for example "Al-Hujurat, ayah 6", and a link to that ayah on muspace.org. The app you choose receives it under its own policy. We do not see what you share. If someone opens the link, our website shows the ayah, as described under "Our website".
How AI is used
Explanations are summarised from published scholarship with the help of AI and checked against the cited works. They are not religious rulings. This happens before release. When you use the app, nothing about you is sent to an AI service, and nothing you do trains a model.
Who helps us run Muspace
These companies provide services we use: Cloudflare (the website, DNS and visit counts), Apple (the App Store) and Google (Google Play, and Google Analytics for website visitors who allow it). The app itself sends them nothing about you; Apple and Google handle your download under their own policies.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect safety or our rights, or with a company that takes over Muspace and must follow this policy.
Cubeshell is in the United States. Our providers may process information there and elsewhere. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the safeguards our providers offer for transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep information
- On your phone: until you remove it or delete the app.
- Website security logs: at most 14 days.
- Support emails: as long as we need to help you and keep a record of the fix.
- Google Analytics data: 2 months.
Your choices and rights
On your phone you are in control: unlike, unsave, delete a collection or delete the app at any time. The app gives us nothing that names you, so there is no account or app data of yours for us to delete.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, to object to or limit its use, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. Californians may also ask what we collect. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising, and we will not treat you differently for using these rights. Write to support@cubeshell.com. We reply within 14 days.
Our legal bases (EEA and UK)
We rely on providing the app and the website; your consent (Google Analytics on the website); our legitimate interest in security and in counting visits without personal data; and legal obligations.
Security
The website is encrypted in transit. The app keeps your likes and saves in its private storage on your phone. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date. If the change matters, such as adding accounts, analytics, crash reporting or notifications, we will tell you in the app first and ask for your permission where the law requires it.
